Manali

Manali is One of the most famous hill station in India, Manali is situated at height of 6400 ft above sea level in Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh India. Manali is located Beas river valley as Kashmir is situated in Jhelum river Valley. Manali has all that a tourist needs in hill station , Manali has river , Manali has tall mountains , Manali has snow ( approx 8 -9 Months in year at Rohtang Pass), Manali has sulpher springs, ancient temples, mall road, apple gardens etc. Manali also has option for adventure sports like para gliding, zorbing white water rafting , mounataineering,trekking,kayaking etc. all adventure activities accept rafting & kayaking are done at Solang Valley , Rafting & kayaking are done near Kullu in Beas river. The sport Heli Skiing  is available in Manali at Hanuman Tibba, Rohtang Pass, Deo Tibba and Chanderkhani Pass near Manali. Heli Skiing is available occasionally.

Hidimba Devi Temple
Goddess Hidimba was wilfe of Great Pandava Bhim, Goddess Hidimba was also known as  Dhungiri , Hidimba Devi temple in Manali is known as one of the most important temples in the Manali region. Hidimba Devi temple is located in side the Dhungiri Van Vihar. Temple is important sight seeing place in Manali.

Mountaineering around Manali
Manali is famous for mountaineering & trekking, Himachal Government has established  a Mountaineering  Institute at Manali. The Mountaineering Institute Manali  has regional centers at Dharamshala, Bharmour and Jispa.

Gulaba Camp near Manali
Gulaba is situated just 20 kms away from Manali town , Gulaba is a beautiful place for sightseeing, picnic and photography. Gulaba is snow point in winters for tourists visiting Manali.

Malana Valley

Manali Sanctuary
This wildlife sanctuary is located in Manali. The area of Manali sanctuary is 3,180 hectares. The Manali sanctuary was notified as a sanctuary on date 26th February 1954.

Naggar Fort Manai
Naggar is famous for its old castle , Naggar is taken as an day tour excursion from Kullu or Manali, Naggar is  a beautiful village set on a hill surrounded by deep forests. Naggar was the ancient capital of Kullu .There are many hotels & resorts located on Manali Naggar road.

Nehru Kund Manali
Nehru Kund is a water spring of clear and cold water, Nehru Kund was named after the late Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru , Nehru Kund is located at 6-km from Manali on Rohtang road.

Temple Of Manu
Manu Temple is located at slippery stones paths , Manali town is named after the great sage Manu who meditated when he came in this area. Name of Manali town has come from word Manu Allaya, Means House of Manu.

Tibetans monasteries have a base in Manali town. A large modern Tibetan temple is situated near  bus stand.

Winter Carnival
Himachal's winter carnival is held in moth of february at Manali. Snow fall continues to play a major part in February's winter festival.

Rohtang Pass (51Km.)
Rohtang Pass is located at Manali Keylong highway, Rohtang Pass is the highest point, 4,112m, of Kullu Manali region. Rohtang Pass provides a wide panoramic view of beautiful mountains .

Arjun Gufa (5Km.)
Arjun Gufa is situated at left bank of the Beas river , Arjun Gufa is located just 5 kms from Manali , It is located near the village of Prini, Arjun Gufa was the cave of great pandava Arjun.

Beas Kund (50Km.)
Beas kund is known as source of river Beas, Beas kund is located near Rohtang Pass and is easily accessible. Because of this kund,the river got the present name of Beas.

Jagatsukh Temple (6Km.)
Jagatsukh is located 6 kms from Manali and known as biggest village of Kullu Valley, Jagatsukh is famous for its Temple of lord Shiva, which is made in Shikhara style. One old temple of Devi Sharvati is also located near by.

Kothi (12Km.)
Small village Kothi is located 12 kms away from Manali on ROhtang roada PWd rest house is locaed here, An awe-inspiring gorge is located very close to rest house where Beas river enters a chasm .

Rahalla Falls (16Km.)
Rahalla falls is situated 16 kms away from Manali and just 4 kms away from Kothi, Its a beautiful water fall which is located near the start of the climb to the Rohtang Pass.

Solang Nullah (14Km.)
Solang Naullah or Solang Valley is located just 14 kms away from Manali, Solang Nullah has best ski slopes of Himachal Pradesh,The Mountaineering Institute operates a 300m high ski lift and the month of February is the best month to ski over here at Solang Valley.
